Kim Fofonove Memorial Book Prize

Established by members of the Department, and by friends of former Geography student Kim Fofonove, this award is given annually to an outstanding Geography major or honours student from the graduating class.

This year's recipient, Irina Lipnitskaya, is graduating with a BEnv in Global Environmental Systems with a certificate in Geographic Information Science.

After finishing her undergraduate studies, Irina has decided to stay at the ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Department of Geography, as she is starting her MSc program with Nadine Schuurman in the coming fall.

Currently, Irina works for ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV International as an Event Coordinator for the APRU SCL 2025 Conference, as well as a Research Assistant for her future grad supervisor. Irina has also been awarded the Beedie Luminaries Graduate Studies Award, which is sure to help her in the pursuit to higher education and knowledge.

Congratulations Irina!
