Topics in the Social and Economic History of Canada HIST 428 (4)

A study of the social and economic dimensions of human experience in the lands presently known as Canada. Topics may include, but are not limited to agriculture and rural societies; capitalism; children and childhood; colonialism and settler colonialism; disability; Indigenous societies and economies; industrialization and industry; labour and work; medicine and public health; migration; and urbanization. Content may vary from offering to offering; see course outline for further information. This course may be repeated for credit only when a different topic is taught. Prerequisite: 45 units including nine units of lower division history. Recommended: HIST 101, 102W, 204.
