FlexPass / Multi-day Parking

If you are driving to campus on average 1-2 days a week, your best option may be the FlexPass multipack. This is a discounted pack of 10, daily permits, which allows for parking in multiple lots accross campus.

More information on the FlexPass can be found here

I want to purchase a permit

Permit Parking

If you are someone who is frequently driving to campus (3 days a week or more) your best option may be to purchase a parking permit.

Monthly Permits

Monthly parking is available for all faculty/staff, and external employees. Faculty/Staff have preferred access to parking although location and pricing is not guaranteed. Wait lists may exist for the most desirable lots.

Contractors can also purchase monthly parking, but require separate authorization.

Students are not eligible to purchase monthly parking, but may purchase semester permits.

Semester Permits

A limited number of semester permits are available for students. These are released in two stages: the first is a "renewal period" which gives purchase priority to those who are current permit holders. During this time, all student permits are access code restricted, and are not available for open sale.

"Open sale" - means that the permits are available to both new and existing permit holders. Permits generally go on "open sale" two weeks before the start of each semester.

The permit I want is sold out, what can I do?

If permits have sold out, that means that we have reached capacity for sales, and you will need to register for the waitlist, and wait until a permit becomes available. As there is no free parking, you will either need to select an alternate permit, or purchase daily parking or a FlexPass.

When will I get off the waitlist?

Unfortunately, we don't know - each semester is different, and any availability would be based on other permit holders cancelling their permits etc. This does happen frequently during the first few weeks of classes as students settle into their schedules etc.

I live on campus and want to purchase a parking permit

STUDENT RESIDENT PERMITS

Student Residents who are living in ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Residence & Housing should contact parking@sfu.ca for authorization to park in one of the Residence Lots. There is no long term/overnight parking permitted in any other ¶¡ÏãÔ°AV Lot without prior authorization.

The Residence Lots are restricted, and offered on a first-come, first served basis.

Where can I charge my electric vehicle?

Charging Stations on Campus

There are two different types of charging stations located across the Burnaby Campus. There is currently no additional cost to use the station, but the lot restrictions still remain, and the applicable Permit or paid daily/hourly parking remain in effect for EV stalls.

There are Level 1 (slow) charging outlets located in the 6000 Level of the West Parkade.
There are Level 2 Charging stations located in the East Parking Lot, Nelson Way, West Parkade 7000 Level, Central Parkade Lower Level, and South Parkade P1.

Non-Reserved Accessible parking stalls are available for general use, however, you are required to have a valid SPARC card or accessible parking permit tag clearly shown on the dash or hanging in your vehicle. Regular parking rates apply.

Reserved Accessible parking stalls are available accross campus, as needed. These are assigned to specific individuals, and are reserved for the exclusive use of the individual assigned.

The Parking Lots are full - where can I park?

Overflow parking

Most parking permits are valid in more than one parking lot. The first thing you should do is check the other lots available for your permit. E.g. the Outdoor permit is valid in North Lot, East Lot, South Lot, and the Residence West Lot. If the main parking lots are full, vehicles may be directed to Residence West Lot. Roadway parking may also become available if additional contingency parking is required.
