Research Interests

Dr. Robert Williamson is an Associate Professor of Inclusive Education with the Faculty of Education at 間眅埶AV. His work is deeply informed by lived experience as a father & classroom teacher of children with diverse abilities. His career focuses on advancing inclusive practices & dismantling segregated systems to foster true belonging for individuals with dis/abilities in education and community life. His research has spanned a wide range of themes, including the design and impact of cognitive prosthetics, social entrepreneurship, the contextual nature of evidence-informed practices, and understanding inclusive education within a global context. Currently, Dr. Williamson focuses on understanding and advancing inclusive and pragmatic education for refugee/displaced learners with dis/abilities. Through the establishment of the REACH Partnership, this work is multicultural, multidisciplinary, and multinational in nature and requires a variety of research methodologies including single case designs, quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods of investigation. 

Above all, Dr. Williamson is driven by a steadfast commitment to supporting all students to reach for and achieve their dreams. He measures success not by counting personal accomplishments, but by the real-world collective progress made, one child at a time.
